Strengths in Organization, Multi-tasking, Customer Service, Training, and Increasing Business

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario; I made a conscious decision three years ago to make a change and move East to Halifax, Nova Scotia and it has been the best decision I've made in my adult life both in my personal and professional life. I have taken all of the skills, experiences and events that I have grown with and transitioned my daily life into one of a work-life balance that I can be proud of while continuing to grow my skills and abilities in the workplace and offering exceptional service to my employer.

I have developed this site as a way to highlight my skills and experience as well as to allow a way to showcase a portfolio of some of the work I have done in my current role of managing the design and development of Custom Websites for individuals, organizations and small businesses alike.

How customer service plays a part in my career

I have always been in a role that was considered "customer-facing".  From my first job at Baka Communications Inc. as a Service Technician up to and including my current role at (a company) as Project Manager and Team Lead for Custom Websites.  It is the experiences in-between and during these roles that has given me all of the knowledge and experience that has moved me through my career and given me the skills that I have used, adapted and grown upon to provide excellent customer service.  But, in the end, I don't feel that it is the traditional customer service or any one single "Customer Satisfaction" result that makes the employee good or great; it is the overall customer experience.

A customers' experience, in my opinion, holds a greater value in the long run than individual customer satisfaction scores and rankings; it is what brings them back, earns their trust and, allows those little mistakes that everyone makes to be made without jeopardizing their faith in the person and company that they are dealing with.  I can honestly say that with all of my trials and growth that I have been through over the last decade and a half, this has been my greatest asset and learned "ability" and that providing this experience to every one of my clients has allowed me to achieve an overall 98% "Customer Satisfaction" rate in my current role, increase business to the companies I have worked at, and increase my overall client-base with little to no attrition from existing clients I manage.

Taking care of my clients is not only beneficial to them as they are happy clients, but in the end, it is also profitable to all of the companies that I have worked with this method.  It produces referrals of new clients, cross-selling of other products and ultimately, a good faith system that I have their best interests at heart and will get them what they need, instead of what they feel I'm "selling them".

It is because of this attitude and ability that I can attribute some of my growth in positions in every company that I have been with and have no intention of changing it, just growing upon it.

Personal growth is the key to success

I have always made it a point to grow in my day-to-day activities.  Learning something new on a regular basis keeps you fresh, energized and avoids those times where you may find yourself bored and at a cross road with life and your career.  In today's society we are all looking for something better than what we have, a better relationship, a better car, a better career; but what if what you are looking for isn't a new anything?  I feel that things can be good where we are if we have given them a chance and given ourselves the opportunity to grow, after all, can someone expect new opportunities where they are working or abroad if they are not growing their own abilities and keeping up with the times?

This is where I feel that you can't rely on your 9 to 5 job to always give you the skills you need to grow, you need to be willing to take action yourself, whether it is taking an online or night course at a college or university or its just doing some Google searches to find other things that are going to help you grow your skill set and abilities, one must be willing to put in their own time to be able to expand their knowledge and experiences if they are going to grow as a person and in a role they want to acquire.
